Yaki means "grilled", tori means "chicken". Now you know some Japanese! It is made from several bite-sized pieces of chicken and veggies. It is skewered on a bamboo skewer and barbecued, usually over charcoal. Diners ordering yakitori usually have a choice of having it served with simply salt or with tare (a delicious sauce).
This deep-fried skewered dish is another Osaka all time favorite. Beef, pork & lots of veggies on skewers. Generally, kushikatsu is known as a casual `street food`; however, there are upscale restaurants as well.
In most upscale restaurants, the chef chooses the food and the order it comes in. If there is something you can't eat, you should notify the chef in the beginning. Also, you must tell the chef when you wish to finish---otherwise the food keeps coming.
Yakiniku (Korean stylel BBQ )is the no.1 choice for meat lovers! Grilling at your table is a fun part of the Yakiniku experience. Along with meat, numerous vegetables are thrown in the skillet. When cooked, you dip the meat and veggies in a delectable Yakiniku sauce.
Price Range- runs the gamut from cheap to expensive. Less costly places usually cook with imported Aussie or American beef. More expensive places generally use Japanese beef.
